How CancelPMI imports and refreshes a mortgage during an active review, what each provider receives, and how to disconnect.
CancelPMI uses Method or Plaid only to find mortgage liabilities for this review. We do not request Plaid Transactions, checking or savings transaction history, income, spending, card purchases, or bank credentials.
Method verifies your identity and uses a soft credit inquiry to find liabilities reported in your name. A soft inquiry does not affect your credit score. Method may ask for identity details, including your date of birth, address, or Social Security number, inside its secure interface. CancelPMI receives the mortgage account details selected for this check, not your raw identity answers.
CancelPMI requests Plaid Liabilities and filters the connection to mortgage accounts. Plaid handles the bank sign-in, so CancelPMI never receives your bank password.
Method or a bank may provide the current mortgage balance, original principal, loan type, interest rate, payment dates and amounts, past-due status, PMI status, and property address. Availability varies. You can review and edit every imported value before using it in the eligibility check.
Method remains a one-time lookup. If you connect through Plaid, CancelPMI securely retains the mortgage-only connection so the balance and other available liability fields can refresh during your review. We disconnect unfinished reviews after seven days and submitted reviews no later than 90 days, or sooner when you disconnect or the case closes.
We never receive your bank password or store a Method Opal token. Plaid access tokens are encrypted server-side and are never returned to the browser, logs, or analytics. We save the mortgage record with your lead so we can calculate the result and complete the review. The record follows the retention and deletion periods in our Privacy Policy.
Connecting a mortgage is optional. You can disconnect it from the calculator or ask us to disconnect it, upload a statement, or enter the numbers yourself. Questions or privacy requests can be sent to hello@cancelpmi.app.
